As students join multiple courses each semester, a large mass of materials accumulates, which has to be managed individually for learning and executing tasks and worksheets. Managing all these media elements (such as slides, videos, or other content provided by the teaching staff) may be cumbersome. Additionally, lecture slides are often optimized for presentation rather than learning, which requires students to take notes manually. Finally, though concepts may appear in multiple lectures, there is seldom technical linking (hyperlinking) between lecture elements, like definitions or concepts, that may reappear in other chapters.
The goal is to create an application that allows a user to create and manage multimedia lecture material, create their own structure for lecture content (e.g., chapters), and link related concepts. Furthermore, expanding material, e.g., definitions found in books, tutorials found on the web, etc., may be embedded and should support proper referencing/citing. The application should allow a user to visualize the graph of connected concepts. Concepts may also link to course material from other courses to highlight the progression in learning and connectedness of topics.
